About Ines Portugal
Director and lead teacher, Ines Portugal
Ines began working with children professionally in 1998. She is a proud member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America, Lifeways North America and is licensed by the State of California as a child-care provider. While working on her Associates degree, she worked for four years at “Katherine Michaels School”. Later, she worked and received training at “Centro Las Olas”. She completed the Lifeways Early childhood and Human Development Training and has an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. Before coming to the US, Ines attend a higher education program majoring in Education in Peru. Since starting her own program in 2010, Ines has been a meaningful member of the community. In her spare time she has mentored potential providers who want to open their own program. Additionally, Ines volunteers in the Latino community at the Mission Cultural Center and programs that support families through domestic violence. In 2016 Ines was the director of the Spanish program for Tree Frog Treks and continues to mentor their educators.
Currently Ines is perusing her International Waldorf Teacher’s Credential. Ines has pursued this career to nurture and foster children. Ines invests in education to support children and help them flourish. She cares deeply about supporting children, their parents, and her community. Ines is a proud immigrant, Latina, and mother to her beautiful smart daughter, Vida. On Fridays Ines supports Golden Bridges School as a Spanish teacher in their Kindergarten class.
